Sanya - part 3 Yanoda Rainforest

ME won a 2 night stay at the No. 1 Rainforest Resort, a healthy breakfast for 2 each morning and free admission to the Yanoda Rainforest Cultural Tourism Zone. The Yanodo Rainforest Cultural Tourism Zone is located 35Km from Sanya City, it is a newly developed rainforest park, unique because the rainforest is at 18 degrees North latitude in China. Once complete it will cover 45 square kilometers surrounded by  an ecological protected area of 123 square kilometers. Currently the park has two landscapes, the Yanoda Rainforest Valley and the Dreamworld Canyon. The rainforest contains, a well designed boardwalk crisscrossing the forest floor, many varieties of plants and trees, an orchid area, giant roots, 1000 year old trees, a observation deck with valley views and attendants holding parrots that can be held for picture taken opportunities, there are rope bridges, a 600meter zip line, a wetlands area, parrots shows, local dance shows, and evening barbeques. The Dreamworld canyon contains a series of three waterfalls running down a 1200 meter canyon. Here for an extra fee, you can climb up the canyon through the rushing springs and step your way up the waterfalls as the water is falling around you. It seems to be a very popular with the teenagers and 20 and 30's crowd.

Below are some of my pictures and some of the fun things we encountered. We first arrived at a large staging area where tour groups are assigned guides and then taken on a 15 minute ride in an electric bus to the entrance of the rainforest. The hotel also had a small lobby for checking-in, in this area. We were seated at the front desk were 6 young ladies checked us in. None spoke English so there were several calls made to one of the managers who did speak English. After a half an hour of pointing and hand signals and more phone calls a private car took us up to the hotel just inside of the rainforest grounds. That evening we attended a special barbeque and local performance held down by the water lands area a short walk from the hotel.
